Home Instead Senior Care is an organisation that you won’t have heard of until you or a family member needs their services. They provide companionship-based care and support at home primarily for older people, but really for anyone who needs some help to maintain independence and quality of life. They have recently set up a new office on Finkle Street in Malton to serve clients in Ryedale.
Home Instead has been operating successfully in York for 7 years culminating in the accolade of ‘Small Business of the Year 2015’ from the York Press. During that time, Managing Director Luke Norbury has found the volume of enquiries from Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside, Pickering and Malton growing each year and decided that 2016 was the time to establish a local office and start to address the need that he has seen developing. Luke says,
We set ourselves high standards in everything we do and it’s not realistic to consider providing the same quality of service in Ryedale without a local base where staff and clients can meet us. We have based our office in Malton but we will be out and about in all of the towns and villages of Ryedale getting to know the people we think we can help.”
Their emphasis on quality means that they focus on matching clients and CAREGivers in order to build relationships and provide continuity for clients.
As they have recently opened their new office in Malton they are keen to hear from anyone interested in working with older people and are keen to emphasise that professional experience is not required.
Over the last 7 years we have recognised that we can provide any role-specific training and support, so we are looking for people who are chatty, compassionate and really want to make a difference in the work they do. You can’t train people to be that way.”
