St Catherine’s Hospice‘s annual Christmas appeal, Light Up A Life, is under way again.
Light up a Life is a series of special community events organised by hospices that take place around the UK during the festive period (usually in November and December). These events help families and friends to come together to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones. The events are open to anyone, not just people whose loved one was cared for by a hospice. Donors are invited to remember someone who has been special in their lives, and to make a donation either in their memory, in the case of a deceased loved one, or in their honour.
Locally trees will be lit with lights, each signifying the life of a special person, from December 1st to January 6, and services will be held. Unlike previous years, however, there will not be a tree or service here in Helmsley this year; our nearest trees and events will be in Norton (December 6), Whitby (December 7) or Scarborough (December 8).
Please see the Hospice website for more details of each event, and to make a donation.
